It has been over a week now. I am ready to talk about it. I have finally come to a stage when I should accept everything that has just happened. I should be happy for his passing, thus he will not suffer another day on Earth. I should be happy as he will be with the Lord. I should be happy that he was my best friend. I should be happy that I've met him in my life and be a part of me of what I am today.

We shared memories, a lot of memories together. We grew up under the same interests, the same religion, the same games, the same ideas and more. We grew up together, studied together, played together, watched cartoons together, got awards together and most of all laughed together.

He was my bestest best friend, his name was Jonathan Lee. People knew me because of him. He was popular, he had the best results, he was every topic in the school. I was just the boy who is Jonathan Lee's friend. But just becuase of that, I still felt happy, because deep inside, we know we are best friends. I called him Jon.

Jon and I grew up together in a humble primary school in Kuching. We basically did everything together, spend most of the time together, at his house, at my house, at the club, at the ping pong & badminton court, at the restaurant, at the church, etc. There was nothing in the world that could seperate us, not until we had to go on our own ways to secondary school. I went to a Chinese Independant School, he went to a government school. The first year in secondary school when I was still active at church as a Boys' Brigade Private, we still contacted. Until one day, when I left the service, all was lost.

I sent Jon an email in 2002 but didn't get a reply. I waited and waited. There was no contact whatsoever. It was total darkness. I then grew up in secondary school without him. Then came college and on one faithful day back in 2008, I received this email while rushing my internship project. It wrote:

The email I wrote for him 6 years ago, has finally gotten a reply. It was really him. I was so happy that I found my best friend again. Immediately we started to contact each other through all means of technology, from MSN to Friendster, from Emails to Facebook. Jon was in Germany studying, I was in Kuala Lumpur. He never changed, still had the best results, still was that Jon I knew back then. We had chicken rice in Kuching's Chick King back in September 2008. Just about a year ago. After 6 years, he came to my house and we had our chicken rice lunch. Our final chicken rice lunch together.

I remembered on that day, after he sent me home, he said, "Let's do this again next year, man!" I said "Sure thing!" Then it never happened, nor will it ever.
